My work "Invaded Landscape" all started with landscapes. In the summer of 2008 I had this idea to travel France by bike, looking for the most mundane yet iconic landscape. The kind of scenery you don't look at because you take them for granted. I also took great care to have a very straight light that would not disturb the image by making it pretty. In a word I wanted to make boring images of landscape that nobody's watching and I succeeded beyond hope. At the end I ended with a bunch of tiresome pictures for anybody but me. I knew that I wanted to add something to the images to make them more appealing. At the time I was also working on another slowly progressing series named "Curious" about a strange worm curious of art and galleries. When I saw Carl Van de Roer's "Orbs" work I had this idea to populate my landscapes with this perfect spheres that looks like alien invaders. This work is still in progress as I continue to wander across France collecting backgrounds for my images.
