They were all aliens. 6-ft tall, piercing eyes, dagger like cheekbones, porcelain complexion and with stares that could penetrate lead. I thought I had stumbled into parallel universe as I walked backstage at the Natural History Museum where the center of the weeks celebrations of fine fabric's were to be held. This was my introduction to the alien world of high fashion. For 7 days I stalked the galleries, catwalks, backstage dressing rooms and after parties of the capital city searching for the women from space. I had not encountered any single group of people like this before. Intimidating, awe inspiring, other worldly figures of perfection, but contained in a small, part secretive vacuous world, surrounded by an army of minions all tweaking, pulling, stretching, and preening their Queen Bee for her 30 seconds of admiration from a fawning audience of celebrities and wanna be heirs to the fashionista netherworld.
